SPAN (Services Program for Aging Needs) is initiating a pet food delivery program called Senior Paws.  The goal of Senior Paws is to support the needs of our Meals on Wheels clients by providing monthly pet food supplements.  Senior Paws will help to ensure that seniors are not sharing their hot lunches with their beloved companions when they are unable to afford enough pet food.

SPAN has already received some pet food donations; however, monetary and in-kind donations are needed in order for this program to be sustainable.  Since Senior Paws will be a once per month, Saturday activity, it will also provide a volunteer opportunity for those that are only available to volunteer during weekends.  

SPAN is seeking the following donations: 

• Dog & Cat food and treats – unopened and unexpired
• Pet food dishes
• Collars, leashes, accessories
• Pet toys
• Ziploc XL or XXL storage bags
• Large plastic/Rubbermaid totes for food storage
• Vouchers for veterinary and grooming services, especially mobile vets and groomers
